The game

Two a side,
off the
glass

Every SmashIT tournament is doubles. The walls are in play, which is what makes a rally last.

How it all
works

  1. 1

    It lands in the group

Every tournament is announced to the SmashIT WhatsApp community before it goes anywhere else.

  2. 2

    Entries open

Divisions and the entry fee are set, and the draw size is capped — the Summer Slam runs to 32 players.

  3. 3

    You book on Playtomic

Entry and payment happen on Playtomic, where SmashIT already take them. Your spot is confirmed there, the moment you pay.

  4. 4

    You turn up and play

Courts, format and timings go out in the group the week before. Most tournaments run a competitive division and a social one.

  5. 5

    The photographs go up

Pictures from the day are posted afterwards, which is where most of the ones on this site came from.

Questions
worth
asking

Do I need a partner?

Yes — every SmashIT tournament is doubles. If you do not have one, say so in the WhatsApp group; someone is always looking.

How good do I have to be?

Tournaments run two divisions: one highly competitive, one fun and social. The Men’s tournament ran Division A and Division B on exactly that split.

What does it cost?

It is set per tournament. Men's SmashIt Tournament — R160 a player. Summer Slam — R300 a player. The fee covers every match you play on the day.

Where are they played?

At padel clubs around Stellenbosch — Oasis Padel Club at 14 De Waal Street, and Cape Crusade Padel. The venue is named on each tournament’s own page.

How many people get in?

The draw is capped per tournament; the Summer Slam takes 32 players. Entries close when it fills, which is why the group gets told first.

Anything not answered here has not been answered by SmashIT yet, and is not guessed at. Ask in the group and it gets added.
